We at Longview Computer Center are very serious about both the privacy and security of our customers. This privacy policy is here to inform you of how we collect, use, and share information gathered about you, the customer, on our website. This privacy policy applies only to the Longview Computer Center website. If you have questions or concerns regarding this privacy policy, please feel free to e-mail us any time or call us at 903-295-8324.

What do we mean by a No-Tolerance SPAM Policy?
LCC does not share any information provided by customers for marketing or advertising purposes. All information shared is done so strictly for the purpose of functionality. For example, we must share your credit or debit card number with a merchant account in order to process a credit or debit card transaction from our shopping cart.

What information do we collect?
We collect only the personal information you voluntarily provide to us or that is given to us by affiliated entities or third parties that have your permission to share your personal information. "Personal information" means your name, shipping and/or mailing address, and credit card or debit card account number. We do not share e-mail addresses that are submitted when you sign up for the newsletter or when you contact us via e-mail.

What is our Opt-In/Opt-Out Policy?
As a safety measure, we have adopted a "Double Opt-In Policy". In order to receive any type of e-mail, offer, or promotion from LCC or a third party, a user must have chosen to receive it during the registration process. After entering sign-up information, such as a first name and e-mail address for the newsletter, a user must opt-in a second time via an e-mail link before we send out any information to someone’s e-mail address. To completely ensure that we have your consent, we also provide the opportunity for a user to opt-out of ever receiving future e-mails in each e-mail we send.

What if information is requested by law enforcement?
If required by law, we may provide any and all information we have about you to law enforcement or other government agencies, pursuant to a subpoena, warrant, or other order by a court of competent jurisdiction. In all cases, we will require written documentation of the request, proof of the identity of the law enforcement official making the request, and we will take steps to authenticate the validity of the request. Any law enforcement or government agency request submitted with less than a court-issued order will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis according to the need and urgency, as well as the particular law enforcement agency making the request.

What are cookies and why do we use them?
A cookie is a block of text placed in a file on the user's hard drive by a Web site you've visited. These types of cookies cannot identify an individual user specifically, such as by name or address, unless the cookie data is attached to personally identifiable information such as online registration. LCC uses a session cookie, which is a piece of identification between your browser and our merchant's server, which helps to do things like keep track of the items in a user's shopping cart, and other information. The shopping cart cookie is saved for a designated period of time in case the user's session expires or they return to complete a purchase within that time frame.

How do we keep your information secure?
Keeping the information you provide to LCC secure is important to us. LCC uses standard industry practices to protect your personal information. Any credit card information you enter on our site is strongly encrypted by the industry-standard protocol, SSL (Secure Socket Layer). LCC uses SSL to communicate with secure browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Netscape. These browsers encrypt your credit card and personal information in a way that makes it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept and misuse while being transmitted between your computer and our merchant’s server. If your browser is insecure, you will not be able to purchase merchandise in our online store.

What about children's information?
In accordance with federal law, we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13 without the verifiable permission of a parent or guardian. If you are under age 13, you are not permitted to use any of the features of our site that require the collection of any personally identifiable information. If we determine that we have collected a child's information, we will immediately take steps to delete that data from our records.

What about changes to the Privacy Policy?
We at LCC reserve the right to alter our Privacy Policy as needed. If we change our Privacy Policy, those changes will be immediately posted to the website. This way, you will always know what information we gather, how we may use that information and if we will disclose it to anyone. All changes to this policy will be posted on our Web site prior to the time they take effect.
